Dondi Silvas
Board President

Dondi Silvas was raised on the Soboba Indian Reservation and is the daughter of the late Charles “B-Bop” and Yvonne Silvas. She is the proud mother of Joseph Burton, who plays professional basketball overseas, and is a proud Glamma of two beautiful granddloves. Spending time with family and friends is what she enjoys most. Dondi is currently working as the Soboba Housing Specialist and truly enjoys working for her Tribe. She has dedicated many years to supporting her Tribe and serving her community and being part of the Soboba Foundation allows her to reach out and help others. Dondi is a member of the NIAA (National Indian Athletics Association) softball committee. She enjoys attending events where she can reconnect with old friends and make new ones. She feels truly blessed to be part of the Soboba Tribe, which has touched so many lives by giving back. The Soboba Foundation proudly supports local nonprofits, students, and youth organizations. Dondi loves to participate in the annual Turkey Dinner, Toy Drive and Charity Golf Tournament “Soboba Gives Back” community projects. She also attends events the Foundation is invited to by organizations to thank them for their support. Dondi said she is happy to be given the humbling opportunity to see how the Foundation’s sponsorship has helped these organizations fulfill their dreams for various programs and projects.

Catherine Modesto
Board Vice President

Catherine “Cat” Modesto resides on the Soboba Reservation & was recently re-elected to her 2nd term for the Soboba Foundation, currently sitting as Vice Chair.
She has 20+years experience in the beauty industry & is an Esthetic Instructor at Coastline Beauty College.  She also owns & operates Hustle & Glow Beauty where she specializes in clinical esthetics & advanced body treatments.
She actively participates in Tribal Community events as well as local charity events in the Valley. Outside of being a philanthropist, Cat enjoys spending quality time with her family, golfing, shopping & furthering her education.

Andy Silvas
Board Secretary

Andy Silvas has lived on the Soboba Indian Reservation most of his life and is the son of Leandro (Tato) Silvas Jr. and Shirley Silvas. He and his wife of nearly 13 years, Naomi, have five children: Shaquoyah, Leandro IV, Allynn, Noyáaykit and Náanat. Andy has been the Soboba Parks & Recreation Director since 2017 but he started working for the department as a recreation aide in 2007. He was then promoted to lead rec aide in 2009 and to sports coordinator in 2013. He wants to make a positive impact for the Tribe and help build a network of professionals that might benefit the programs at Parks & Recreation. His favorite holiday event is Halloween. He loves that the community comes together to have different booths and vendors and he enjoys seeing the creativity that is evident in all the different costumes and haunted houses. He has been the Soboba Youth Council advisor for the past five years and has served on the board of directors for Inter Tribal Sports since 2009 and TERC since 2021. In his spare time Andy likes spending time with his family, playing sports and coaching and supervising the youth in their sporting activities. He is looking forward to working alongside the other Soboba Foundation board members in serving his Tribe and contributing to worthy causes.

Julie Arrietta-Parcero
Board Treasurer

Julie Arrietta-Parcero is thankful to continue serving as treasurer for the Soboba Foundation. In the time she has spent on the board, she has enjoyed working with and learning from Sponsorship Coordinator Andrew Vallejos and her fellow board members. Julie has always been passionate about Giving Back to the community and being on the Foundation board has given her the opportunity to interact with the community and help out whenever and wherever there is a need. Helping with the growth of the Tribe has always been a top priority for Julie and she wants to do even more. She has been an Executive Board Member, representing Soboba, for Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health Inc. since January of 2013. She is the Front Office Receptionist at Soboba Tribal Administration, a job she secured after a one-year internship in the Soboba Tribal Member Employment Development Program in 2016. She enjoys being the first point of contact for all visitors to the Administration office and providing exceptional customer service to everyone on a daily basis. Julie has four children and two grandchildren. She and her husband enjoy spending time with family every chance they get.

Monica Herrera
Board Member

Monica Herrera was raised on the Soboba Reservation and continues to live there with her husband, Gabriel Herrera, and their six children. She took an interest in Tribal government at an early age, volunteering her time with Soboba Youth Council as a teen. As an adult, she served on the Enrollment Committee for 10 years and the Noli Indian School board for nine years. She was first elected to Tribal Council in 2015. This year, she was elected to a fourth term and is currently serving as secretary. She enjoys the close-knit community she calls home and is always eager to help all age levels get more involved. Her positive outlook translates to surrounding communities as she participates in as many events as possible that are supported by the Soboba Foundation. Monica can appreciate all the hard work that goes into managing a nonprofit and is excited to work with the successful team that has been doing incredible things to assist local charitable organizations in meeting their missions and visions.

Daniel Valdez
Board Member

Daniel Valdez grew up on the Soboba Reservation. He wants to be involved with the Soboba Foundation to give back to the community and be part of the efforts to help others. He participates in the Thanksgiving food drives held for families from Hemet and San Jacinto unified school districts. He also participates in Soboba Foundation’s annual charity golf tournament, which he enjoys attending. Immediately following graduation from high school, Daniel worked as a lifeguard at the Soboba Sports Complex. Benefitting from the Tribe’s Higher Education program, he attended auto mechanics school in Sacramento, where he also participated in off-road racing. The program also assisted Daniel in attending culinary school which led to him working as a line cook at the Soboba Springs Golf Course and then the Soboba Tribal Preschool. He was part of the Soboba Cultural Resources Department Canyon Crew and then worked with the Soboba Public Works Department. Daniel served as a board alternate for the All Mission Indian Housing Authority in 2020 and was elected to Soboba Tribal Council in 2020. He has four children: Daniel Jr., Gloria Valdez, Bruce Valdez and Willow Valdez. He has been married to Genevieve Valdez since 2018. Thanks to Soboba’s housing loan program, Daniel was able to move into a newly constructed home on the reservation in 2018. In his spare time, Daniel likes off-roading, camping and spending time with his family.

Michael Bentiste
Board Member

Michael Bentiste served on the Noli School Board from 2002-2014 and was employed with the Soboba Public Works Department from 2006-2014 until he joined the California Highway Patrol. He resigned from the CHP to devote himself to serving on Tribal Council full time after being elected in 2023. Michael's priorities are education and the expansion of the Tribe’s operations to generate more income. Being part of the Soboba Foundation gives him more insight into what the surrounding area has to offer Soboba’s youth and young adults. He and his wife Laura have a son and daughter and are the proud grandparents of two. Michael has lived on the Reservation most of his life and enjoys spending time with his family and golfing when he can. He is looking forward to working with the current Foundation board and has hit the ground running.
